Mommy Me
Mommy and Me
This class is designed to provide 2 - 3 year old children with the opportunity to learn dance alongside their parent. Both parent and child will enjoy creative dance while learning musicality and the basic elements that begin a child's development in the dance world. This program runs on an 8 week rotation with 3 sessions per year at:$60.00 per session per family.Dance Attire:Children: Fitted shorts, t-shirts or any color dance wear.Parents: Comfortable clothes.Shoes: Ballet slippers or bare feet are acceptable for both parents and child.
Creative Dance
Creative Dance
Must be 3 years of age by September. Proof of age will be required at registration.Children enjoy a gentle and fun introduction to dance, through movement to music. Young children are encouraged to use their own imagination & explore movement, in the atmosphere or play, while they are learning the basics of dance. All movement is safe for young children and only positive reinforcement is used for encouragement. (please see primary brochure for more information)Dance Attire:Girls: Body Suit Tights (any colour) Shoes:Pink leather ballet slippers with elastic sewn across instepBoys: T-shirt, cycling short, dance pants Shoes: Black leather ballet slippers with elastic sewn across instepHair: Pulled off face, either in a ponytail or hairband.Please don't purchase Jay Jay's. We prefer the students wear a proper dance shoe with support.
Jazz Open
Jazz & AIDT Exam
These exciting classes focus on fun style and energizing technique. Each class includes a warm-up, stretch/strengthen, and exhilarating combinations finishing with a professionally choreographed dance. Being our most popular style of dance, Jazz offers students co-ordination, balance, rhythm, posture and musicality. We offer classes for beginners through to advanced, ages 4 to adult.For the dedicated and serious student, we offer exam classes in the AIDT method of Modern Dance (Jazz). Students are recommended by their teacher and are required to take 2 classes per week.Dance Attire:Girls: Body suit, dance pants, 2 piece form fitting outfit (any colour)Boys: Cycling shorts, dance pants, t-shirts or tank topsShoes 4 - 10 yrs: Black ballet slipper with elastic sewn across instep.10 yrs+: Black oxford jazz shoes, split solesHair pulled back off face in ponytail, braid, or bun.

Ballet & RAD Exam
Ballet offers well structured classes which develop good posture, movement quality, sense of line, balance, musicality, and coordination Ballet is an important basis for all forms of dance. We also offer exam classes in the RAD method of Ballet.Students wishing to be entered for exams, must take a minimum of 2 classes per week, and are recommended by their teacher.Dance Attire:Girls: All Ballet classes require pink ballet slippers with elastic sewn across instep.Boys: All ballet classes require black ballet slippers with elastic sewn across instep.Hair must be worn in a bun.Pre-Ballet: Pink short sleeve bodysuit, pink tights, gathered skirt, mid-thigh preferred RAD skirt.Pre-Primary/ Primary: Pink short sleeve bodysuit & pink ballet socks. Pink RAD Swiss dot skirt, mid-thigh. Skirt required by exam students only.Grade 1 & 2: Pale blue tank bodysuit with matching waist elastic. No skirt. Pink tights.Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8: Navy blue tank bodysuit with waist matching elastic. Pink tights.Grades 1 to 8: Character skirts & shoes are available for a rental fee of $10.00. This rental fee will be required at the time of registration.

This new class is designed for a safe and age appropriate introduction to Hip Hop for younger students ages 5 - 9 years. Students will love this high energy, rhythmic dance style, that combines introductory Hip Hop technique and jazz movements.Dance Attire:Girls & Boys: Track pants, shorts, t- shirts.Shoes: Inside runners or court shoes.Hair pulled back off face in ponytail or braid.

Over the past years Hip Hop has grown in popularity and now has its own distinct style. Students will thoroughly enjoy this fast paced class, with moves that will challenge their coordination abilities and skills. Modern Contemporary
Modern / Contemporary
Modern/Contemporary dance takes free natural movements while still using the technique and structure from ballet and or jazz. This unique type of dance creates a language with the use of posture, bodyweight and movements.Dance Attire:Body suit, footless tights, Capri pants (any colour)Shoes: Barefeet or foot undies.Hair pulled back off face in ponytail, or bun
ZUMBA

Zumba, based on latin inspired dance, has become the largest dance fitness program in the world. Dance and Aerobic elements are set to fast and slow rhythms incorporating hip-hop, zamba, salsa, merengue, mambo and martial arts.It has been said Zumba is exercise in disguise, and fun regardless of your fitness level, once the music starts everybody is moving.
Lyrical Jazz

Lyrical Dance is a flow of movements combining Jazz and Ballet. Classes include warm up exercises based on stretching and strengthening, combinations of movement across the floor and finishing with a choreographed dance number. Lyrical classes focus on balance, technique, posture and strength, as well as portraying emotion through dance.Students wishing to attend these classes are required to take Ballet. Classes are offered to students ages 11 and up.Dance Attire:Girls: Body suit and tights, dance pants, or 2 piece form fitting outfit.Boys: Cycling shorts, dance pants, T-shirts, or tank tops.Shoes: Black jazz oxfords or split soles.Hair pulled back off face in a ponytail, bun or braid.

From the ages of 4 through adult, we offer a tap programme for beginners through to advanced. This high energy style of dance combines rhythm, technique and style, transforming your feet into the instrument that plays with the music.The AIDT tap exams offer students am opportunity to develop their technical skills and achieve higher levels of tap.Dance Attire:Girls: Body suit, tights, dance pants, or 2 piece form fitting outfit.Boys: Cycling shorts, dance pants, T-shirts, or tank tops.Shoes: 4 - 10 yrs Black patent tap shoes with elastic looped through eyelets and stitched.10 yrs + Black oxford taps, NO HIGH HEELS PLEASE.Hair pulled back off face in a ponytail, bun or braid.
Arrobics Open
Acro & CDTA Exam
Acrobatics is a unique form of movement that is similar to gymnastics. Strength of the back, flexibility, balance and coordination are focal points in the development of their body for acrobatic skills. Students are taught everything from forward rolls, handstands, backbends, walking on their hands, and back hand springs. Acro takes dedication discipline. Once the student has found their flexibility and balance spot, they will be able to do anything they put their minds to! Classes are available for students ages 5 & up. We also offer CDTA Acro exams.Dance Attire:Girls: Body suit, tights, dance pants, or 2 piece form fitting outfit.Boys: Cycling shorts, dance pants, t-shirt, or tank tops.Shoes: Footless tights or bare feet.Hair pulled back off face in a ponytail, bun or braid.
Musical Theater
Musical Theatre Class
Musical Theatre encourages students to combine dance with characterization. Learning how to use body and facial expressions to create a character is the key to unlocking a child's potential. Students learn to project their voices to the audience through speech and song.Class includes a dance & vocal warm-up & a combination of dance movements across the floor and character exercises. Classes are available for students ages 8 and up.Dance Attire:Girls: Body suit and tights, dance pants, or 2 piece form fitting outfit.Boys: Cycling shorts, dance pants, t-shirt, or tank top.Shoes: 8-10 yrs: Black leather ballet slippers with elastic sewn across the instep.10 yrs +: Black jazz oxfords or split soles.Hair pulled back off face in a ponytail, bun or braid.
Salsa
Salsa
Salsa dance is a fusion of many Latin and Afro-Caribbean dances. These dances, including Mambo, Samba, and Cha Cha, Danzon and other Cuban dance forms all play a large part in the evolution of Salsa dance today. Salsa is considered by many as "Cuban" for its origin, ancestry and creation. The Mambo/Salsa similarities are in the basic pattern of six steps danced to an eight count phrase of music. Although Salsa is a partner dance, there are recognized solo steps. These lively classes are sure to get everyone's hearts pumping and hips moving.Classes are offered to students ages 11 and up.

Special Needs Program
This is an applied interactive program focusing on facilitating movement, coordination and most importantly fun. This class is designed for a safe and appropriate introduction to dance, with movements being hip hop based. Here at CentreStage we believe in everyone being able to perform and express themselves. The skills learned in the studio are transformed into life lessons to be carried on long after our students have moved on to their life challenges and ambitions. We request that each student is accompanied by a caregiver who is also welcome to participate in class, or sit and watch.In this community CentreStage Dance has become a place where your children can not only come and learn to dance, but also be a part of a warm, loving family. Students of all ages and abilities have always been welcome to classes at CentreStage Dance. No matter what challenges a student may face, you are always welcome to come and be a part of our studio. This particular program is offered to students ages 8 through adult.This program runs on an 8 week rotation with 2 sessions per year at a cost of $75.00 per session. Each class runs 45 minutes in length.
