In the past decade Shannon Pouznar has accomplished so many amazing goals both professionally and personally, she has become a mother, wife, studio owner, adjudicator, and examiner, years of dedication and hard work have gotten her to a point she has dreamed of all her life. Shannon has trained in jazz, tap, ballet, musical theatre, lyrical, and modern, and children’s work. She was a busy young lady, working on her studies and developing her teaching skills. Shannon’s hard work allowed her to compete provincially, and on the national stages, several times winning both gold medals and scholarships. Having achieved success motivated her further and she managed to win nationals in multiple disciplines. In her 30 years teaching students as well as fellow teachers Shannon has had the pleasure of seeing students develop into wonderful teachers and professional performers.

Bringing out the best in her students, regardless of their age or levels has always been Shannon’s ultimate goal. Not everyone is destined to become a professional dancer but everyone can train and advance while acquiring skills and confidence that will transcend across all aspects of life development.

Shannon is very much enjoying her current role of AIDT (Association of International Dance Teachers) examiner.

As the first Canadian AIDT Examiner, it’s a great honor for her to represent AIDT in the best manner possible. Shannon has watched her students win bursaries, attain high marks and excel in all dance disciplines in their quest to become dance teachers , and professional dancers. Whatever the individual goals are she can provide guidance and knowledge through her own experiences.

Shannon considers herself very blessed to be surrounded by wonderfully talented people, being co-owner of CentreStage Dance , has given her the occasions to create and implement several programs specializing in young children and mommy and me, she has a wonderful business partner and staff that encourage her to pursue prospects in adjudicating in Canada, travelling overseas to South Africa and across Canada to examine students, and travelling to wherever dance opportunities arise. She is always on the lookout for new adventures and ideas to bring back to her own dance family
